East Central HS Global Health

East Central HS is a chapter of Squads Abroad, a non-profit supporting sustainable development goals to improve health and education outcomes in partner communities abroad. Global Health Squads mobilize students to help improve health care access and sanitation infrastructure for children in under-resourced communities abroad. Projects include: mobile health clinics, building handwashing stations at schools and providing healthcare workshops for children. Global Health Squads is a program of Global Brigades, a highly recognized international development organization that uniquely implements a Holistic Model that targets specific UN Sustainable Development goals within partner communities. Our model systematically builds community ownership and collaboratively executes programs with the end goal of sustainably transitioning to a relationship of impact monitoring. Eastern High School

Eastern High School is a chapter of Squads Abroad, a non-profit supporting sustainable development goals to improve health and education outcomes in partner communities abroad. As a Global Education Squad, our group works in under resourced schools abroad to supplement local curriculum, provide one-on-one tutoring, and make physical improvements to the school’s infrastructure that improve learning outcomes. Eatonville High School Impacto Global Squads

Eatonville High School aims to improve health care access and sanitation infrastructure for children in under resourced communities abroad. Our Squad travels abroad to conduct mobile health clinics for children that include primary health care and vision and dental screenings. We also learn about and address some of the systemic issues behind preventable diseases in the community by implementing health workshops and building handwashing stations alongside local students. Each of our student volunteers has a donation goal to help cover logistical expenses while abroad such as transport, local staff, meals, insurance, accommodations, but most important, the year-round follow-up to our project by local staff to ensure the sustainability over time. Elmbrook School

Elmbrook School is a chapter of Squads Abroad, a non-profit supporting sustainable community development goals that improve health and education outcomes in schools and communities abroad. As a Global Education Squad, the group will be matched with a school to provide hands-on tutoring and classroom support while also completing much needed infrastructure improvement projects. Small construction projects are focused on bettering the learning environment in schools in order to improve educational outcomes. Squads stay at our private and controlled home-base accommodations where our local professional staff provide all transportation, food, lodging, and activities. Each afternoon the group will engage in guided experiential activities, language lessons, and educational workshops to learn more about the culture. Our student volunteers work alongside local engineers to assess, design, and construct infrastructure projects that range from rainwater harvesters that supply drinking water for local schools to large scale community-wide water systems that pipe water directly into households.
