Fundraising Campaign Description

End Date: Apr 8, 2018 11:00 PM

What Volunteers Can Do
Give A Day Global volunteers will start the day with a tour of the recycle center to learn about all the different types of recycling and composting methods. Then volunteers can help local staff to sort and condense recyclables (this may involve breaking glass bottles into small glass pieces, sorting papers, bundling cardboard, etc). Volunteers may also help staff with making craft projects out of recyclables that are sold as a fundraiser for the center.

A Snapshot of Nosara
Nosara is a beautiful coastal town in Guanacaste located in a region that has experienced a big population boom of tourists and expatriates. In order to preserve the natural beauty of the region it is vital for visitors and residents to all pitch in. Recycling is a critical component of sustainable living!

About Nosara Recycling Center
Nosara recycling center collects recyclables from homes and businesses and consolidates them for transport to a facility that can repurpose them for raw materials. In addition, the center also conducts a number of education and public outreach programs to educate the local community, about trash, recycling, and composting.

Your Contribution
Your contribution helps to maintain equipment and employ critical staff at the recycling center, and to propel outreach programs that are essential for getting the entire community (including travelers!) to participate in protecting our planet.
