Passionate About:

"Why nursing?" This is a question that I have very frequently received from other people since I started nursing school. I chose nursing because of a combination of reasons. Coming from a country where patient-centered care and hospital facilities are still very limited, being able to work in such a developed healthcare setting in the U.S. has always been my dream. Then, I started clinical and had my very first interactions with my patients. Until that moment, I\'ve finally realized how important it is for me, as a future nurse, to be there and provide sufficient care for the patient when they need me the most. Being hospitalized and possibly facing the thin line between life and death is a very scary situation. During those vulnerable moments, what the patient needs the most is a simple touch of human hand or a small gesture of kindness. It is truly a privilege, as nurses, to be able to be there for them in those moments. That is why I am interested and so passionate about the profession that I am going in right now. I want to be a nurse who pass by my patient’s bedside everyday acknowledging and sympathizing the pain they go through and the discomfort of being away from home they experience. I want to be someone who is knowledgable enough to provide sufficient care for my patients as well as that very needed “human kindness” to them in such difficult times in their lives.
