Passionate About:

Global Medical Brigades is an international movement of students and medical professionals working alongside local communities and staff to implement sustainable health systems. We work in remote, rural, and under resourced communities in many places such as Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua and Ghana.
Through a friend, I was shown an awesome opportunity to participate in this medical brigade and provide access to health services in rural communities alongside doctors, staff and local leaders.
What drives me is to be able to help, assist, and care for others anyway known possible and through this opportunity, l get to serve as a humble student and give back and provide supplies and health assistance to those who would otherwise have limited to no access to health care. This is amazing opportunity that I could not turn down. We get the opportunity to mobilize ideas and action for global health equality.
I will also have the opportunity to gain overseas shadowing/service experience by participating in this week-long medical brigade to Honduras through your donation.

Our Mission: To empower volunteers and under-resourced communities to resolve global health and economic disparities and inspire all involved to collaboratively work towards an equal world.

About Us

Auburn University is a chapter of Global Medical Brigades, an international movement of students and medical professionals working alongside local communities and staff to implement sustainable health systems. We work in remote, rural, and under resourced communities in Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua and Ghana who would otherwise have limited to no access to health care. Each community receives a brigade every 3 to 4 months where hundreds of patients are provided access to healthcare and volunteers deliver public health workshops. Electronic patient records are collected for future visitations and to monitor overall community health trends. nnIn conjunction with our Medical Program, Global Brigades also supports communities with economic development, sanitation and clean water projects, and uniquely implements these programs in a holistic model to meet a community’s health and economic goals. Our model systematically builds community ownership and collaboratively executes programs with the end goal of sustainably evolving to a relationship of impact monitoring. Upcoming Initiatives

Auburn University Medical Brigade December 2026 Guatemala

Global Brigades offers 7-9 day Medical Brigades throughout the year in Honduras, Panama, Ghana, Guatemala, Greece and Belize. During a Medical Brigade, volunteers have the opportunity to take vitals and patient history in triage, shadow licensed doctors in medical consultations, and assist in a pharmacy under the direction of licensed pharmacists. Each of our partner communities receives a brigade approximately twice a year. Between brigades, our in-country team maintains relationships with the communities to provide follow-up and to conduct Community Health Worker (CHW) trainings to empower local leaders to sustain a consistent level of healthcare. Electronic patient records are collected for future visitations and to monitor overall community health trends.
