Rewards Program

Rewards Program is a chapter of Global Brigades, an international movement of students and medical professionals working alongside local communities and staff to implement sustainable health systems. We work in remote, rural, and under resourced communities in Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua and Ghana who would otherwise have limited to no access to health care. Each community receives a brigade every 3 to 4 months where hundreds of patients are provided access to healthcare and volunteers deliver public health workshops. Electronic patient records are collected for future visitations and to monitor overall community health trends. In conjunction with our Medical Program, Global Brigades also supports communities with economic development, sanitation and clean water projects, and uniquely implements these programs in a holistic model to meet a community’s health and economic goals. Our model systematically builds community ownership and collaboratively executes programs with the end goal of sustainably evolving to a relationship of impact monitoring. Microenterprise Conference

Global Brigades works closely with volunteers from rural communities in Honduras to start, improve and maintain microenterprises. This December 4-9, Global Brigades will partner with business professionals to facilitate a Microenterprise Conference to provide community bank members with important information and tools. Current projects include chicken farms, tilapia farms, bakeries, agricultural stores and coffee farms. Business professionals will prepare presentations on various topics during the months leading up to the December conference. Once in Honduras, volunteers will visit communities, gain cultural context, become familiar with our current projects to make final alterations to their conference presentations. The conference will cover supply chain and operations, organizational structures, sales and margin analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and marketing and strategy. Please contact Eli LaSota, a Global Brigades Honduras Program Associate, with any questions by sending an email to eli.lasota@globalbrigades.org.

Community Bank Empowerment Summit

Help us fundraise for our annual Community Bank Empowerment Summit! This 3-day training summit brings the board of directors from each Global Brigades established community bank into Panama City to participate and collaborate in workshops, trainings, and more! The Business and Microfinance Programs are expanding in Panama and need your support to host this event for even more people than last year. A yearly summit is needed in order to highlight successes, provide in-depth training, and build upon the educational curriculum in order to continue to support and reinforce the program's motto of "financial inclusion."
