Passionate About:

My daughter, Tempest is a junior at DePaul University and is currently in the process of taking her MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) and applying to medical schools. To expand her experience, she volunteered to travel to Honduras this coming June with Global Medical Brigades. After meeting with the group that she will be traveling with she phoned and asked if I would join her on the Global Medical Brigade trip to Honduras. I felt very honored that she would share such an incredible experience with her mother.
Having traveled with medical mission organizations in the past has helped my professional growth to give me a broader understanding of global health care needs. This opportunity to travel with my daughter will give me a prospective that I will be able to bring back and apply to

About Us

DePaul University is a chapter of Global Medical Brigades, an international movement of students and medical professionals working alongside local communities and staff to implement sustainable health systems. We work in remote, rural, and under resourced communities in Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua and Ghana who would otherwise have limited to no access to health care. Each community receives a brigade every 3 to 4 months where hundreds of patients are provided access to healthcare and volunteers deliver public health workshops. Electronic patient records are collected for future visitations and to monitor overall community health trends. nnIn conjunction with our Medical Program, Global Brigades also supports communities with economic development, sanitation and clean water projects, and uniquely implements these programs in a holistic model to meet a community’s health and economic goals. Our model systematically builds community ownership and collaboratively executes programs with the end goal of sustainably evolving to a relationship of impact monitoring.
