Over the past four years, I had the opportunity to volunteer over 850 hours to communities in need. I spent many hours in a hospital setting and have found that I want to spend my time working in the medical field in the future. I have been interested in learning about global health for a long time now. I believe all people should have access to vaccines and first world medical advancements like those we have access to in the United States. One of my life goals is to help others on a local, national, and even global scale with these issues. My Catholic education past and present has fostered this passion and I'm humbled to be able to continue serving others in this way.

Global Brigades USA is the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. Our mission is to empower volunteers and under-resourced communities to resolve global health and economic disparities and inspire all involved to collaboratively work towards an equal world. Since 2005, more than 30,000 volunteers from 800 university groups have traveled to implement our nine skill-based programs to benefit more than 600,000 community members in Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Ghana.
