Passionate About:

Hello Family and Friends,
Global Brigades is a non-profit organization that travels to under-resourced communities hoping to solve global health and economic disparities. Last summer I went on my first medical brigade with Global Brigades-SF STATE to Panama. In the span of 7 days we were able to provide care to 560 people in our 3 day clinic and we partnered with a few families in Cocle Province and built home infrastructures like latrines and showers to help prevent diseases. This was one of the most humbling experience I’ve ever been on and opened my eyes and heart to doing more humanitarian work. I took a vow to myself to continue going on these brigades and with that said I will be going on my 2nd brigade to Nicaragua but this time I will doing a “Water Brigade”. Water is an essential resource to life and unfortunately not many countries have access to clean water. Our goal is create a clean water system where families in remote rural communities have a reliable source of purified water. It would mean the world if I could get your support with any donations towards my passion for helping others. -Thank You!

About Us

San Francisco State University is a chapter of Global Medical Brigades, an international movement of students and medical professionals working alongside local communities and staff to implement sustainable health systems. We work in remote, rural, and under resourced communities in Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua and Ghana who would otherwise have limited to no access to health care. Each community receives a brigade every 3 to 4 months where hundreds of patients are provided access to healthcare and volunteers deliver public health workshops. Electronic patient records are collected for future visitations and to monitor overall community health trends. nnIn conjunction with our Medical Program, Global Brigades also supports communities with economic development, sanitation and clean water projects, and uniquely implements these programs in a holistic model to meet a community’s health and economic goals. Our model systematically builds community ownership and collaboratively executes programs with the end goal of sustainably evolving to a relationship of impact monitoring.
