Fundraising Campaign Description

End Date: Jan 2, 2014 12:00 AM

The Community Health Workers program, which was created in 2009 in Honduras, serves to empower local community leaders to bring health care services and education to their own communities on a more consistent basis. This program consists of training selected volunteers within the community to participate in thorough and intensive health education seminars and practicals. These Community Health Workers help us provide patients with follow-up between medical brigades and work to prevent any potential health complications. They are not only the moderators of health and disease in their communities but also the health education teachers and mentors.
This year we are hoping to bring the CHW program to Panama in hopes of supporting the sustainability of health programs in our communities.
Please help us raise money for supplies, educators and transportation for this program.
