Passionate About:

I am extremely passionate about providing quality care for minority populations by creating trusting relationships and systemic practices amongst patients and providers. Medicine is supposed to be patient-centered, and I plan on making this a reality for those who have lost faith in our system. This drive is brought on by firsthand experiences with my family members which taught me how important language and cultural competence is within the medical field. These experiences reinforced my own belief that medical professionals must tailor healthcare practices to the population being served, taking social, cultural and linguistic needs of patients into consideration. As a future Physician Assistant, I want to be a part of the system and help to enforce such practices.

VAW Global Health Alliances (VAW Global) is a global health and development organization committed to cultivating sustainable and equitable partnerships with local communities and professionals through support and capacity-building for essential and accessible health services. Our focus is to work hand-in-hand with local initiatives and leaders to provide communities with improved access to medical, dental, and veterinary treatment, medication, nutritional security, clean water, and health education.

VAW Global Health Alliances develops community health systems while providing interns the opportunity to work alongside experienced local healthcare professionals. VAW Global Outreach trips provide interns with an opportunity to work first hand with experienced local professionals in the fields of medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and sustainable development.
