This summer I will be part of a 25 member team traveling to Cusco, Peru from July 25th-August 8th! Our team will be setting up mobile medical clinics, along with local doctors, in the areas around Cusco with the most need and least access to any medical care. As a volunteer in the clinic, I will take vitals (including blood pressure, pulse, and blood glucose levels), shadow and assist doctors during patient consultations and learn about and distribute medications prescribed by a doctor. In addition to working in the clinic, we have an education day at a local school where we will teach children about proper nutrition and hygiene. I am so excited for the challenges this hands-on experience will bring! This is a volunteer opportunity, which means I need a team of people to rally behind me and sponsor me to go.
