I am passionate about global health and learning from different cultures in and outside of my community.
Through Volunteers Around the World, I look forward in contributing to an initiative that advocates for those in vulnerable communities abroad, bringing attention to the people in these parts of the world that do not have the access to the educational and medical resources we have the privilege of getting. This does not however in anyway devalue the imperative for medical assistance in communities around the United States as we recognize that disparities in the health care system are ubiquitous.
In addition to medical outreach abroad, VAW at UCSC extends its efforts into the local health care systems here in Santa Cruz. The goal is then to create both a local and global perspective that allows for a more comprehensive look into the health cares system in different communities around the world.
