Hello!

My name is Jasmine Ben, and I am writing this to tell you about my goal for this summer. Currently, I am a 2nd year Nursing Student at Mount Saint Mary's University. As I was doing my clinical rotations, I found a love in caring for the patients I had the privilege of being with. I find myself questioning how can I find better ways of attending the needs of my patient. When the opportunity of traveling out of the country to shadow other health care workers came up, I knew I had to take it. During this trip I will be able to help those in need outside my community. Going to a place foreign to my nature would give me a chance to grow as both an individual and nurse later in my career. Helping others in another country will allow me to build a foundation to create a perspective that will allow me to work with a holistic approach.
Today, I ask for your support in two ways. First I ask that you keep me and my colleagues that will be going on this trip in your prayers. Your prayers will help us keep an open mind and patience in the times we encounter the unexpected. Secondly, I am asking for your support financially. My goal is to raise $2,995. This amount will help to cover the program fee as well as medication that will be distributed to the patients. Any contribution you make will be greatly appreciated! I will be sure to keep you posted and share my adventures with you when I get back at the end of June.
