Hello Everyone,

My name is Garrett Smith and I am a recent graduate of Sacramento State University with a degree in Kinesiology. My life goal is to one day become a physical therapist. I unfortunately did not get into physical therapy school this year. As I wait for the application cycle to open again I am doing everything I can do make my application stroger. Volunteers Around the World (VAW) gives me the opportunity to not only volunteering, but gaining clinical, and experience the local culture in full immersion. VAW travels to different parts of the world and provides developing countries with medical assistance including setting up free health clinics for the local people and also educating the local people on health issues. This year they will be traveling to Cusco, Peru for two weeks. My goal is to raise $1600 which will cover my housing, food, and transportation.
