Something that I am incredibly passionate about is healthcare and medicine. On my recent trip to Panama, I discovered how good we have it in America. Not every country can grab Tylenol right off the shelf, and many times they can't get that prescribed. I am going on this trip to continue my calling/work to help better the health of future adults and children and gain experience and knowledge to one day fix these problems.

Chad's Message

Hey, you all!

This year I will participate in another medical mission trip to Peru in May 2023. This is something that I am incredibly passionate about and have put a lot of time and effort into. I currently hold the position of fundraiser chair for the University of Alabama VAW Chapter, so I am doing everything in my power to raise funds for all of us to go on this trip.

Recently, in the past year, I went on a trip to Panama, which truly touched my life. Seeing and immersing myself in different cultures while helping treat many patients is remarkable. If there is anything I learned about going on one of these trips, it is simply how blessed I am and how I shouldn't ever take anything for granted.

If you are at all able to donate, that would be great. I would appreciate lots of prayers as I embark on this second journey. Thank you all

Volunteer Activity Description

Join the University of Alabama chapter as they lead a Medical Outreach Internship to Peru this upcoming Summer! interns will work in mobile medical clinics, where they will have the opportunity to intake patients, conduct public health surveys, take vitals, shadow local physicians, work in the pharmacy, teach education classes, and much more! If you’re interested in joining, contact us for more information!

VAW Global at University of Alabama will be opening up mobile medical clinics for local communities during their time in Peru.

One of the most exciting and important parts of interning with VAW Global is bringing medication to the less fortunate. In 2019, VAW Global treated over 35,000 patients and we aspire to treat over 45,000 in 2022! One of the things that make our mobile clinics unique is that we not only triage and diagnose patients, but also provide them with the basic medications needed. Fundraising for medications is a huge part of creating a successful mobile clinic to help the local communities with effective care.
