I am currently a freshman majoring in Athletic training. I wanted to do this volunteer trip abroad to learn new things both medically and about a new culture. I am looking forward to gaining a great new experience in the Dominican Republic.

About Us

The Long Island chapter of Volunteers Around the World (VAW) consists of students that are enthusiastic and committed about addressing the health disparities that currently exists in developing countries. Through close collaboration with the Non-Governmental Organization, Volunteers Around the World, our club at Long Island strives towards providing rural communities in developing countries access towards medical treatment, medication and nutritional and health education.
