Sebastian's Message

I am traveling to Panama with the University of Texas at San Antonio VAW Global Medical Chapter as a Co-Team Leader. While in Panama we will conduct mobile medical clinics for individuals at Panama, as interns we will intake patients, take vitals, shadow physicians, and work in the pharmacy. I am very excited to be part of this internship and I would greatly appreciate any donations.

Volunteer Activity Description

Join the University of Texas San Antonio chapter as they lead a Medical Outreach Internship to Panama this upcoming Summer 2023! interns will work in mobile medical clinics, where they will have the opportunity to intake patients, conduct public health surveys, take vitals, shadow local physicians, work in the pharmacy, teach education classes, and much more! VAW Global at the University of Texas San Antonio will be opening up mobile medical clinics for local communities during their time in Peru.

One of the most exciting and important parts of interning with VAW Global is bringing medication to the less fortunate. In 2019, VAW Global treated over 35,000 patients and we aspire to treat over 45,000 in 2022! One of the things that make our mobile clinics unique is that we not only triage and diagnose patients but also provide them with the basic medications needed. Fundraising for medications is a huge part of creating a successful mobile clinic to help the local communities with effective care.
