Passionate About:

If you were to ask me how healthcare was perceived in my eyes 10 years ago, I would have told you it's my annual physical where a doctor takes my weight, height, and tells me to say “ah” while he or she sends a proctor down my throat. I would get up, grab an awesome sticker on my way out the door and wait until the next year. That's it, that's all I knew about medicine, not yet knowing the mysteries and true definition of health. As I've grown into my ambitions and seen the career field of medicine unroll little by little, I realize health is a luxury that is exclusive and difficult for many. Younger me would've never understood that a normal healthy physical exam is yearned for and should not be taken for granted. Family encounters with cancer, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, liver failure and death have harnessed the worst and best in my life. Being able to promote an understanding and help others in need will give support and guidance to those who feel alone in an unknown medical world. Health can be elicited through education, care and selflessness. As I've spent time as a medical assistant I see many patients and families confused or uncomfortable, as I've been on their side of the spectrum before. Interacting with them has provided many opportunities of knowledge and has enabled me to think of new ways to help patients, even if it's just offering a hand of comfort.

Upcoming Initiatives

University of Georgia Team C Medical Internship to Vietnam, July 2025

Join the University of Georgia chapter as they lead a Medical Outreach Internship to Vietnam this upcoming Summer! interns will work in mobile medical clinics, where they will have the opportunity to intake patients, conduct public health surveys, take vitals, shadow local physicians, work in the pharmacy, teach education classes, and much more! If you’re interested in joining, contact us for more information! VAW Global at University of Georgia will be opening up mobile medical clinics for local communities during their time in Vietnam. One of the most exciting and important parts of interning with VAW Global is bringing medication to the less fortunate. In 2023, VAW Global treated over 17,500 patients and we aspire to treat over 20,000 in 2024! One of the things that make our mobile clinics unique is that we not only triage and diagnose patients, but also provide them with the basic medications needed. Fundraising for medications is a huge part of creating a successful mobile clinic to help the local communities with effective care. **Note: airfare is not included
