Hello everyone! :) Thank you so much for visiting my Empowered.Org website. It truly means a lot to me that you'd take the time to get to know me and why I am so excited about our upcoming medical mission to the Philippines!
So a little bit about me...
I am a recent graduate of UC Davis and I studied Biochemistry and Molecular Cellular Biology. As an undergrad I was an undergrad researcher of the Keen Lab, a Nutrition research lab on campus where I studied the effects of glutathione in an induced zinc deficient rat population, the Community Service Coordinator of the UC Davis Pre - Pharmacy Club and a clinic intern of a student run clinic, the Bayanihan Clinic.
Throughout my time at UC Davis, I had difficulty in deciding what I really wanted to do in the future (just like every college student) due to the many interests I had! However, I allowed myself to be driven by my love for my community and the desire to find what I am truly passionate about.
This medical mission to the Philippines would be a culmination of all the wonderful experiences I had as an undergrad and would give me the opportunity to use all the skills I've acquired. Most importantly, it would contribute to fulfilling my dream of becoming a doctor.
I can only imagine the incredible journey that I am about to embark on, but to live it would be a dream come true.
I know this message is quite lengthy, but I feel that I owe it to you for taking the time to get to know me, especially if you decide to encourage ($$$) my dream! ;)
I am truly grateful that I even have the opportunity to get to do this and I hope that this inspires you to help others as well.
