Majoring in biological sciences at the University of San Francisco will be the backbone to my future in medicine. After my six month stay at Rady's Children's hospital in San Diego, I observed the way that the doctors and nurses were communicating with their patients and I want to be a part of that. Throughout my stay, I learned a lot of new things about the medical field that I didn't know before. The health field is not just all about the diagnoses or treatments, it’s about the connections and stories that each patient has.

The San Francisco chapter of VAW Global Health Alliances (VAW Global) is made up of students who are enthusiastic and committed to addressing the health disparities that currently exist in developing countries. Through close collaboration with VAW Global, our club at San Francisco strives to provide rural communities in developing countries with access to medical treatment, medication, and nutritional and health education.
