Hello everyone I am currently a junior majoring in Biology and work part time in an animal hospital. I wanted to broaden my horizons and experience human medicine for I am interested in applying to Physician Assistant school. I am volunteering abroad because I am looking forward to a rewarding and enriching experience. I am very excited to commence on this voyage and help those in need in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic.

About Us

The Long Island chapter of Volunteers Around the World (VAW) consists of students that are enthusiastic and committed about addressing the health disparities that currently exists in developing countries. Through close collaboration with the Non-Governmental Organization, Volunteers Around the World, our club at Long Island strives towards providing rural communities in developing countries access towards medical treatment, medication and nutritional and health education.
