I take great joy in assisting at various free clinics in Edmond, OKC, and Norman. Whether the work is administrative, clinical, or hospitality, being part of a team dedicated to the belief that everyone deserves to be cared for inspires me not only as a future healthcare professional but as a human being. On an even more personal level, the alarming prevalence of diabetes, heart disease, and obesity among Oklahomans along with the presence of the two former conditions within my own family not only inspires me to incorporate healthier lifestyle practices into my own life but drives me to help others understand the importance of dietary and exercise education. As part of this initiative, I am an avid Zumba fitness member and actively encourage my peers and colleagues to join.
