Dear Friends, Family, and Sponsors,
My name is Justin Thornton, and I write to you beseeching a moment of your time to tell you about an organization called Global Brigades. This organization, since 2004, has greatly improved the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of people in Honduras, Panama, and Ghana. Global Brigades has mobilized over 12,000 volunteers in just seven years. These volunteers, predominantly university students, work in coordination with licensed medical professionals to provide healthcare in mobile clinics to people isolated in rural communities.
In Honduras, many people in rural communities do not have access to medical treatment, especially preventative care, which is critical in deterring much more serious health issues. The Global Brigades chapter at California State University, Bakersfield wishes to be a part of this global humanitarian effort. However, participating in this program has significant costs. Each member is responsible for accumulating donations to cover to cost of airfare, housing, food, and medical supplies such as first-aid products and medicine.
I hope that you will support this cause by contributing a 100% tax-deductible donation to my fund.
