Here at the University of Denver, I am involved in a group called Medical Brigades. This organization, part of Global Brigades, coordinates with volunteers around the country to travel to Central American to set up and run one-week medical clinics in remote communities that lack basic healthcare. My chapter brings doctors and supplies to Panama along with supplies to set up a temporary clinic. This year I will take part in this amazing opportunity. While on this trip I will be able to gain experience working with trained medical professionals. Not only will I be able to gain experience working with trained medical professionals and have a glimpse of what my future career may hold, but I will also be making a difference helping those in desperate need of medical care.
