Hi Everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to stop by my page. I am fundraising to take a trip to Africa for a medical brigade. As some of you may or may not know, I am studying to be a nurse and this trip would be extremely beneficial to my career. We will be in Africa for 10 days. For the first 5 days we will be in a medical clinic where we can actually assist registered nurses and doctors hands on with patients. We will be able to do things like take temperatures, blood pressure, and assist in treating patients. We will be able to fill prescriptions and even sit in on health education lectures. The last few days I will be able to help the community by building concrete floors in their houses, working showers, provide clean water, and even provide them with health knowledge. I have heard stories from people who have been there and have heard how much of a great experience this is. I want to be able to go to Africa and help their community be a better place. It honestly saddens me that there are people in this world that don’t know everyday health precautions. Most of the communities don’t know signs of infections and even the stages of puberty. I want to be able to help people who don’t have the knowledge I am fortunate enough to have. Having the opportunity to go to Africa will not only look amazing on my nursing application and benefit me getting a job, but will make me certain that this is the career I want to go into.
