I've always loved to travel, especially with a purpose. As an environmental science major, I am someone who is wholly concerned with climate change, food security, ecological degradation, and the likes. With Global Student Embassy at San Francisco State University, I would travel to Boaco, Nicaragua for 10 days over my winter break (Jan. 2017) with fellow students to help develop sustainable farming practices, educate the locals on the importance of environmental education all while being immersed in a new culture. I have always dreamed about venturing out to share my care for the environment with others, and this is an excellent opportunity for me to put my words into actions through this brilliant cultural exchange.
