Passionate About:

I'm passionate about healthcare, community service, and making a real impact on people's lives. As the Fundraising Chair and Treasurer for Global Medical Brigade, I love organizing initiatives that help provide medical care to underserved communities. The idea of traveling to Belize this summer to assist with healthcare efforts is something I’m incredibly excited about because it aligns with my goal of making a difference in global health.

Beyond that, I care deeply about food security and giving back to my community. Volunteering at Pete’s Pantry and the Regional Food Bank has shown me how important it is to support people in need, and I love being part of something bigger than myself.

I'm also really interested in science and research, especially in biology and medicine. Working on trout ontogeny research has given me a deeper appreciation for how living organisms develop, and it fuels my curiosity about the medical field.

Outside of academics and service, I express my creative side through social media management and graphic design—helping organizations like CowboyThon grow and engage their audiences. And when I’m not doing that, you can probably find me dancing with the OSU Hip Hop Crew, which is another huge passion of mine!

Overall, I love being involved in things that challenge me, help others, and allow me to grow—whether it's through healthcare, research, community service, or creative projects.

Oklahoma State University Medical Brigades July 2025 Belize

Volunteer Activity Description

Global Brigades offers 7-9 day Medical Brigades throughout the year in Honduras, Panama, Ghana, Guatemala, Greece and Belize. During a Medical Brigade, volunteers have the opportunity to take vitals and patient history in triage, shadow licensed doctors in medical consultations, and assist in a pharmacy under the direction of licensed pharmacists. Each of our partner communities receives a brigade approximately twice a year. Between brigades, our in-country team maintains relationships with the communities to provide follow-up and to conduct Community Health Worker (CHW) trainings to empower local leaders to sustain a consistent level of healthcare. Electronic patient records are collected for future visitations and to monitor overall community health trends.
