There are over 400 million people in the world that lack access to basic health care. Having seen this first hand in Panama, I realized that I wanted to make a difference. Although I may not be able to help all 400 million, I set out each day to help at least one. As a future Registered Nurse, I want to provide the best care to all of my patients. By immersing myself in other cultures I will be able to better understand how location, income, and culture ultimately impact individuals, not only physically, but also emotionally and spiritually. I hope to carry these experiences with me, so that I can one day work as a nurse in a global health organization to help provide sustainable health solutions to communities across the world.
