  • About Global Brigades USA
    Global Brigades USA is the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. Our mission is to empower volunteers and under-resourced communities to resolve global health and economic disparities and inspire all involved to collaboratively work towards an equal world. Since 2005, more than 30,000 volunteers from 800 university groups have traveled to implement our nine skill-based programs to benefit more than 600,000 community members in Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Ghana.

Institute for Sustainable Development

The three Global Brigades Institutes The Institute for Global Health, The Institute for Sustainable Development and the Institute for Language and Culture function as the educational arms of the organization. Their purpose is to: (1) improve the preparation of volunteers to make a difference while working abroad, (2) develop our members' profesional experience to make them competitive applicants in the fields of International Development and Global Health, and (3) improve access to higher education in the countries Global Brigades supports.

Global Brigades is revisioning the future of international education through the Institute for Language and Culture. These classes provide students pre and post Brigade educational resources that make Brigades more meaningful for Brigaders and the communities they serve.
