I am a junior Allied Health major at the University of Connecticut. The Global Medical Brigades is an opportunity that I am incredibly lucky to have and I could not be more excited for. With donations to this cause I will be significantly helped out in addition to my own outside fundraising ideas. I look forward to going into the community in Nicaragua and helping to improve the lives of the people that I can only begin to imagine as of now. Global Brigades USA is the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. Our mission is to empower volunteers and under-resourced communities to resolve global health and economic disparities and inspire all involved to collaboratively work towards an equal world. Since 2005, more than 30,000 volunteers from 800 university groups have traveled to implement our nine skill-based programs to benefit more than 600,000 community members in Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Ghana.
