Passionate About:

During my undergraduate years at UCSD, I discovered my passion in the medical field and dance. While my career goal is to be a Physician Assistant, I also realized the power of music and dance in healthcare. Through the help of Movement Exchange, I am able to use DANCE as a PUBLIC HEALTH measure in underprivileged communities.

My experience with dance has changed my life and I want to share this free gift with both local centers in San Diego and underprivileged communities abroad.

Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to exchange dance in Panama. The trip made me a better dancer, teacher, and future physician assistant. It taught me about the importance of cross-cultural exchange and creating opportunities within your community. This year, I am excited to join an amazing group of dancers on our journey to Brazil.

What have we accomplished as a chapter at UCSD?
We have taught dance to foster children, homeless youths in downtown SD, Center for Children, and senior centers in underprivileged communities.

Although volunteerism is a very common problem with Volunteer-abroad programs, I truly believe that Movement Exchange is making an actual long-lasting impact on the youth.
