GHANA

Dear Friends and family,

As you may or may not know, I have been given the fantastic opportunity of going to the African country of Ghana, in June of this coming summer. When there, I will being working with the organization, Global Brigades, which is the world’s largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. Since 2004, Global Brigades has mobilized thousands of university students and professionals through skill-based service programs to improve the quality of life in under resourced communities.

While I am there, I will be working alongside physicians, helping treat the ill, teaching communities necessary life skills, and fulfilling my overwhelming passion of helping others. When this opportunity was presented to me, I instantly knew that this was something that I could not pass up.

Having been on multiple mission trips with my church that spread all over the country, I have recognized my passion for helping others. In four years, I plan on attending medical school; whereas I can live out this passion as a profession. This opportunity of going to Ghana does not only grant me great experience in the healthcare field, but it allows me to obtain a greater understanding as to what my future holds in store for me.

As many of you could have guessed, this trip does not come at a cheap price, whereas I know that personally I would not be able to send myself there. However with the help of others I truly believe that this dream of mine is capable of coming true. I am asking for any donations. Every dollar will make a difference, and every dollar will mean the world to not only me, but to the people of the communities that I will be helping.

If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?
