I am Adetutu Sadiq; an international student from Nigeria. I school at UC Berkeley and I am seeking your help in funding a volunteer trip to Honduras.

As an Economics major, I am always looking for opportunities to put to use all of the hard work and knowledge gained from my education here at UC Berkeley, I am perceptive to ideas and willing to help others. I was extremely overjoyed when I got to know about an opportunity to participate in a Business Brigade with the respected and well-known Global Business Brigades: https://www.globalbrigades.org/experience-business-brigades. This opportunity enables me help others while further developing my own skills in real world Business and financial consulting.

This past semester, I enrolled in a unique class that has taught me about the culture, problems and needs of communities struggling in Honduras. Some of our education has included medical triage workshops, disease awareness workshops, Spanish lessons, sustainability workshops, and many other areas. I will now implement this knowledge I have learned by institutionalizing micro-finance programs and providing business and financial advising to communities in Honduras. I will be working hand-in-hand with community members in order to assess their situations and also create easy ways of solving these problems. Hopefully, these efforts will empower and provide these communities with the tools they need to improve their quality of life and sustain economic development in the nearest future. This is going to be a weeklong trip from Jan 3rd to 10th, advising by day and crafting business strategies by night.

Ever since I could remember, my wishes had always been to help others in every possible way. I see before me a life in Public service, whichever course I choose, the greatest part of my adventure lays ahead. The opportunity to give something back or to share my skills and knowledge really means a lot to me. I would like to ask all of you for help with this brigade. Funding for this trip is the responsibility of volunteers. Our main costs include boarding, transportation, and staffing, however, we would also make donations to the communities to help them jump-start their investments, create infrastructures (building schools, water systems etc.) and hire medical professionals. My fundraising goal is $1850. Any amount that you are willing and able to donate would not only mean a lot to me, but also the people of Honduras.
