Nicole's Message

While in Costa Rica this December I will be volunteering 2 days at an organization called "Kids Saving the Rain Forest". Please consider making a donation today and help me raise, at a minimum, the $250 that is required to volunteer. All proceeds received will be go directly to Kids Saving the Rainforest. Also, your donation is tax deductible!! Any amount you can donate would be much appreciated. Read more about the organization below.

Thank you,
Nicole

Fundraising Campaign Description

What Volunteers Can Do
Volunteers can help the staff and long-term volunteers by preparing food for the animals, create enrichment toys, clean bird cages, and any other activities happening on the day you visit (could include repairing enclosures, observing animal behavior, helping staff organize materials, etc). Larger groups may help maintain trails and reforestation projects that require more manpower. Please note: for the well-being of the animals, volunteers will not be allowed to touch or feed any animals!

A Snapshot of Manuel Antonio
Manuel Antonio is a small national park that is teeming with wildlife and botanical biodiversity. Animals often venture beyond the boundaries of the park and risk electrocution from power lines, injury from cars and traffic, and illegal capture. Kids Saving The Rainforest is a safe haven for injured and orphaned animals, as well as an advocate to help minimize threats and to preserve this beautiful habitat and protect the animals that call it home.

About Kids Saving The Rainforest
Although the organization was started by two 9-year-old girls who wanted to help raise money for rainforest conservation, the organization has grown up over the years and is a well-established resource for rainforest animals. At their wildlife rescue center they care for injured and orphaned wild animals with the aim of rehabilitating them to be released back in the jungle. They maintain an animal sanctuary (for the long-term care of animals that are not able to survive in the wild), they spearhead in reforestation projects, education projects, and fund the creation of local rope “monkey-bridges” that allow monkeys to cross roads without getting electrocuted on power lines.

Your Contribution
Kids Saving The Rainforest is raises funds to pay for veterinary care for rescued animals, to feed the animals, to construct monkey bridges, and to implement reforestation projects.
