Hello! My name is Allison Mac, and I am an incoming first year pharmacy student at the University of the Pacific, Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy.

Before I enter pharmacy school, I have been given the opportunity to join a Medical Brigades team to Honduras this summer! After completing my undergraduate education and getting a taste of what it means to be a health care provider, I have discovered a passion for medicine, service, and making a difference, no matter how small.

On this trip, I will be working with my Rho Pi Phi pharmacy fraternity brothers and medical professionals to serve rural communities of Honduras. These areas are often isolated; the closest medical help could be hours away or too expensive. Our team will be setting up mobile clinics to serve these communities, offering medical consultations, medication, and health education to those who otherwise might not have access to regular health care.

As I am about to enter pharmacy school, there is still much that I don't know and much I have to discover. But one thing is certain: my desire to help others goes beyond local borders. I am so excited to step outside of my comfort zone and pursue my passion for service and medicine while making a difference. However, before that, I will have to raise $1700 by July, and I would be so grateful for any help, whether small or large, or just well wishes on my travels!
