“Groups” are intended for smaller, less complex movements and are typically a part of an “Organization”. “Organizations” are geared toward layered, multi-chaptered movements that coordinate multiple groups. For example, a single Soup Kitchen in Oakland would benefit from a Group setup because it is less complex, working out of a single location as a single group. But an organization that ran Soup Kitchens throughout all of Northern California would probably benefit from an “Organization” setup, so that each location can be managed as its own group, and all the groups would be part of the umbrella organization. Can I Customize my Group/Org URL? No Problem! On your Group Home Page roll your cursor over the “Tools” button and click “Edit Details.” In the second box under URL, you can change your Empowered URL. The default setup is www.empowered.org/GROUPNAME, but you can change it to anything you want.
