Global Brigades offers 7-9 day Medical Brigades throughout the year in Honduras, Panama, Ghana, Guatemala, Greece and Belize. During a Medical Brigade, volunteers have the opportunity to take vitals and patient history in triage, shadow licensed doctors in medical consultations, and assist in a pharmacy under the direction of licensed pharmacists. Each of our partner communities receives a brigade approximately twice a year. Between brigades, our in-country team maintains relationships with the communities to provide follow-up and to conduct Community Health Worker (CHW) trainings to empower local leaders to sustain a consistent level of healthcare. Global Brigades offers 7-9 day Dental Brigades throughout the year in Honduras, Panama and Ghana. Dental Brigade volunteers have the opportunity to shadow licensed dentists in urgent and preventive dental services in communities with limited access to healthcare. Dental Brigades also focuses on prevention with dental hygiene workshops. Each of our partner communities receives a brigade approximately twice a year. Electronic patient records are collected for future visitations and to monitor overall community health trends. A typical brigade structure includes three clinic days and a Holistic Model Day. This unique day allows for Medical/Dental brigaders to experience one of Honduras’ other programs: Architecture, Business, Engineering, Microfinance, Public Health or Water Brigades. Through these Holistic Model Days, volunteers are able to tackle non-health related issues that are often times the root cause of common illnesses seen on Medical and Dental Brigades. The main health concerns in our communities include diarrhea, respiratory illnesses, waterborne illnesses and abdominal pain.

Global Brigades offers Business TeleBrigades, a virtual international volunteer program for people who care about economic opportunities in under-resourced communities. Business TeleBrigades volunteers apply their business skills, foster cultural competency through virtual immersion, and with the support of our local teams and mentors from Deloitte or Accenture, create consulting deliverables to help grow small business clients from rural communities in Panama. TeleBrigades use virtual meeting software and on-the-ground economic development professionals to facilitate meaningful experiences for both volunteers and our clients. This innovative program incorporates live consultations, tangible consulting deliverables, and the opportunity for affordable loan capital to help clients execute on their business plans.

Blair High School Global Medical Squad November 2026 Greece SQUADS ABROAD
Global Medical Squad mobilizes students abroad to participate in a medical clinic that will provide primary health care services to under-resourced communities with limited to no access to medical care. During the clinic, students will assist with intake, triage, shadow our physicians, provide education workshops, and help to distribute medicine in the pharmacy. In addition students will help build the capacity of community health workers on chronic illness screening techniques. Included in the program fee is a contribution that makes our medical clinics possible. Medical Squads is a program of Global Brigades, a highly recognized international development organization that uniquely implements a Holistic Model that targets specific UN Sustainable Development goals within partner communities. Our model systematically builds community ownership and collaboratively executes programs with the end goal of sustainably transitioning to a relationship of impact monitoring.
