Passionate About:

Public health - because the simplest efforts have very powerful and tangible effects on lives. I want to help make the world a place where there is equitable access to health services regardless of race, gender and socioeconomic status. I especially believe that tailored community based efforts to educate and engage the public on any issues of health are crucial to bridging treatment gaps for many diseases and disorders. Additionally, public health practices promote the values of compassion, tolerance and multiculturalism, and it excites me to be part of a global community committed to spreading these values.

I am especially proud and happy to have volunteered for Global Brigades at the University of Toronto since the chapter's founding in 2014. And I am SO thrilled that I finally get to go on a brigade!

Volunteer Activity Message

Global Brigades offers 7-9 day Public Health Brigades throughout the year in Honduras, Panama and Nicaragua. On Public Health Brigades, volunteers develop sustainable health solutions and establish a standard of health quality by emphasizing prevention and education. The Public Health Program achieves this goal by implementing in-home infrastructure projects, providing health education, and engaging community members. Each Public Health Brigade will work with individual families, local schools, and community leaders with a focus on holistic and preventative health measures on both an individual and community-wide scale.
