Service For Peace
TENTH ANNUAL MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. SEASON OF SERVICE & 40 DAYS OF PEACE 2013
Miami, FL January 08, 2013…Over 300 volunteers will join together for the Tenth
Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Saturday, Jan. 19, at various sites located throughout Miami, Florida.
Service For Peace with support from the Corporation for National and Community Service-CNCS is the lead organizer. Special thanks to AARP, Miami Dade College and Miami Dade Parks for their support.
Our signature project site will be at West Perrine Community Center ( 17121 SW 104 Avenue Miami, FL 33157 ) where 200+ volunteers from FIU, Miami Dade College and Miami Dolphins Special Teams and Boys Scount Troop 712 will be painting , working on park beautification and making parks safer for the community. Starting at 8:30 a.m.
Some other projects include:
MLK Jr. Food Drive to support the Local Community of West Perrine families in need and veterans. Collect non-perishable food items and drop them off at West Perrine Park.
Colonial Park-We will be working with 50 + volunters on clean up and .
Metro Zoo-Over 100 students will be completing clean up projects and planting.

Kicks off on Jan. 21st and runs through Mar. 01st . Take the Peace Pledge and use the 40 Peace Quotes & Peacemaker curriculum to reduce bullying, drugs, crime and violence.
