Fundraising Campaign Description:
The L.A.F. Project is continuing its 2011 scheduled documentary photography exhibits of the Internally Displaced People of Georgia in the focus country this December. Georgian and international photographers have submitted powerful works that are to be exhibited in partnership with the Tbilisi International Film Festival in Tbilisi, Georgia starting on December 6 and ending on December 20, 2011. Furthermore, the L.A.F. Project is leading photography workshops for refugee children in Zugdidi, Georgia, a city neighboring the conflict zone of Abkhazia. In order for these events to be as successful as possible, we are looking to raise funds for printing and framing costs, gallery rental and promotional materials to support our cause.
The L.A.F. Project exhibits in Prague in partnership with Forum 2000 were a complete success! The Georgian Ambassador, Nino Nakashidze, gave a beautiful welcome speech to a packed house at NAPA Gallery, and the panel discussion at AAU was full to capacity as well. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who graciously donated to our Prague exhibits. As a startup non-profit, the L.A.F. Project is still in need of necessary funds to support our next round of exhibitions and workshops. Even $10 goes a long way!
