Business Brigade\'s Brigade to Panama
In Panama, economic inequality is drastic leaving much of rural Panama in poverty without access to greater education and financial resources. Business program seeks to create sustainable economic development solutions to improve the overall socio-economic level of under-resourced communities . This goal is advanced by improving or expanding micro- enterprises while working through community owned and operated credit & savings cooperatives in local communities. In addition, the Business The Business program methodology consists of three primary support pillars: providing access to financial resources via the creation of a community based credit & savings cooperative, financial literacy education, and micro-enterprise development & counseling. Global Brigades staff work with communities to establish the cooperatives and provide follow-up to the cooperatives. Financial education and micro-enterprise counseling are provided through the utilization of student volunteers during 7 day trips to Panama called \"Business Brigades\". program provides administrative assistance and the seed capital necessary for entrepreneurs to realize their business goals; empowering under- resourced community members to drive their own economic development

Airfare for Ghana Internship

As Global Brigades expands as a student-led social movement, it is critical that we act with unity, connectedness, open dialogue and a single powerful vision. When we look back at social movements of the past – for peace, for civil rights, for women\'s rights, and even today\'s most recent political and social mobilizations – we see that only through excellent communication and powerful organizing can we continue to implement effective and sustainable solutions worldwide. As movements of the past have, we need to meet regularly across the world to share best practices, create common goals and mobilize ourselves to become even better at serving the communities in which we work in Honduras, Panama and Ghana. The GB Exchange also provides a platform for student leadership development within GB. The Exchange will provide the opportunity for members of Global Brigades from across the country to gather to teach each other and to learn from one another, to present their ideas, argue their points and become more effective leaders. We will discuss how to inspire others to action, the keys to mobilizing the masses, strategies for unlocking the power of fundraising and methods for implementing effective and sustainable health and development programming in rural communities abroad.

Spanish Language Certificate Spring 2013
Global Brigades is now offering students and health professionals the opportunity to take an 8 week online certificate in Spanish focusing on vocabulary used in Global Health. After the 8 week Certificate Program, students will: ● become conversational in medical Spanish ● be more equipped to help during Brigades ● acquire tangible language skills for a future health career

Global Brigades Pub Quiz Fundraiser
Going to hold a pub quiz in Byrnes Pub, Hill Street, Dundalk in a couple of weeks to raise money for my brigade to Honduras! Just trying to sort out the questions etc now! eeeeeeekkk.....
