George Washington Medical Chapter Fundraiser - AEDs for Urban Clinics in Honduras Global Brigades USA
Global Brigades offers 7-9 day Medical Brigades throughout the year in Honduras, Panama, Ghana, Guatemala, Greece and Belize. During a Medical Brigade, volunteers have the opportunity to take vitals and patient history in triage, shadow licensed doctors in medical consultations, and assist in a pharmacy under the direction of licensed pharmacists. Each of our partner communities receives a brigade approximately twice a year. Between brigades, our in-country team maintains relationships with the communities to provide follow-up and to conduct Community Health Worker (CHW) trainings to empower local leaders to sustain a consistent level of healthcare. Electronic patient records are collected for future visitations and to monitor overall community health trends. For this fundraiser, the Medical Chapter at George Washington University is coming together to organize a fundraiser in an effort to purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and donate it to one of the Urban Clinics operated by Global Brigades in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. With this donation, medical professionals at the Urban Clinic will have the necessary tools to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, either staff members or daily clinic patients, and potentially save lives. We appreciate every single effort and donation towards this cause!

Go Ghana 2023 - Fundraiser to Support Technology in Ghana SQUADS ABROAD
OUR CAUSE: While in Ghana, on a Squads Aboard trip sponsored by Global Brigades, we were opened up to the struggles of Ghanaian students with the lack of technology incorporated into their education. The lack of technology in education diminishes their learning opportunities and educational exposure. We spent 5 days helping to refurbish a classroom into a computer lab. Unfortunately, this computer lab is missing a key component, COMPUTERS that work! The school has 10 computers however only 2 are working. A complete computer setup is $150. Any amount donated will help us buy more computers and the additional materials to support this tech lab. Please donate so we can help improve the educational experience of these Ghanaian students. Thank you for your generosity to the HWRHS students from Go Ghana 2023! If you want to see more about our trip, follow our progress on Instagram at @Mssanotravels

Jorge Alvarez Project Materials Donation Fundraiser SQUADS ABROAD
Haven Tan is a student at Oaks Christian School who was a part of the Global Brigades Squads Abroad program for two years. In this program, she and her class worked to design a water system for villages in Honduras and Nicaragua. In the final meeting with the Jorge Alvarez community in Honduras, she recognized that there was still a need to cover the funds to implement the water system that her class had designed. To help with this, she is starting a project where she will teach girls in communities near her how to work the CAD computer design system so that through their learning, they can laser print products to be sold to raise money for the Jorge Alvarez village. Buying these products along with donating individually can aid Jorge Alvarez village in implementing a system that would bring them clean water and move them forward towards reaching Global Brigades' Holistic Model. Global STEM Squads mobilizes students abroad to improve access to clean water in rural under resourced communities through applying STEM skills. Volunteers work alongside local engineers to assess, design, and construct infrastructure projects that range from rainwater harvesters that supply drinking water for local schools to large scale community-wide water systems that pipe water directly into households.
