Volunteer Activity Description:
As a group of 15 postgraduate students at the London School of Economics, we are organizing a 10-day volunteering project Ghana at the end of March as part of the Global Brigades organization. This project will help a local village develop important business skills and financial institutions capable of sustaining growth. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our drive to make a difference in the developing world is a commonality. Over the next few weeks we will be fundraising for our project, and would love to have your support!
Some basic information:
• What? A 10-day volunteering project in Ghana in March that is part of the established Global Brigades organization. We will be working directly in a local community, conducting educational workshops that develop business skills, and fostering entrepreneurship through microfinancing efforts. You can find detailed information here: (http://www.globalbrigades.org/ghana)
• Who? 15 postgraduate LSE students from a number of different countries and professional backgrounds.
• How much? Ultimately we are hoping to raise £15,000 (+$24K), which will cover the cost of the program itself and the airfare to Ghana from London. Any donation you make will be tax-deductible (in the US), and directly contribute to a village in Ghana.
• Why us? Our backgrounds, ranging from development experience in third world countries, to business experience at banks and marketing organizations, provide us with the skills necessary to make a difference in Ghana. This, in partnership with the trusted Global Brigades organization in which we will be working, means that you can be confident that penny you donate will directly benefit people living in Ghana... Making a difference is our goal, and we will stop at nothing to see this goal become a reality.
