Volunteer Activity Description:
The Citizenship Tutor plays an important role in the life of an individual who is planning to become a citizen. Becoming a citizen and learning Basic English are essential for the immigrant or refugee’s future.

Responsibilities:
Meet weekly with a student
Help the student know answers to questions that will be on the exam
Teach the student basic English, based upon questions from the exam

Commitment: Minimum of one hour a week for about two to four months

Qualifications: Looking for volunteers comfortable working with older adults whose first language is not English. No experience necessary!
